Womens Self Defense – I Still Get Chills Thinking About It

I want to tell you a story. This is a true story, although I really wish it wasn’t.

First, I want you to imagine a self-defense class full of enthusiastic participants. This particular class is full of women learning how to defend themselves against bigger, stronger attackers.

In fact, this women’s self-defense class was the final lesson of the four-week course, “Ladies Night”. We focus on ground pins and other situations that deal with the rough behavior typical of a rape attack.

Everyone is having a good time, both physically and socially. The course went well. Even the serious discussions were enjoyable and engaging, as everyone was there in a spirit of mutual support, and everyone agreed that this is an issue of great importance to women in today’s often violent world.
