Old and Popular All Saints High School – Schools in Hyderabad

what do you see – One of the oldest schools in Hyderabad and now a Gunfoundry landmark, All Saints High School marks the entry of missionary education into the land of the Nizams. All Saints’ corridors have produced some of the best in every field – whether it’s cricket’s Azharuddin or politics’ Sitaram Yechury.

The buildings you see at this school overlook the city from a small hill. It was built in 1942 and still maintains its splendor today. You will be amazed by the vast cricket ground.

All Saints’ remains one of the most prestigious and sought after educational institutions in both cities. It started in 1855 by Rt. Reverend Daniel Murphy, Apostolic Priest of Hyderabad, in the name of Halloween Academy. In 1858, Rt. Priest-manager Caprotti became the first principal. It earlier catered to the educational needs of the British and Anglo-Indians. However, now it has students from a variety of backgrounds.

Management of the school was taken over in 1932 by the Monfort brothers of San Gabriel. Until 1998, the school was a boys’ school.

what do you get – The coeducational school has more than 3,000 students and more than 100 faculty members. The school follows the Andhra Pradesh syllabus. Each class has a maximum of 60 students.

Exams are given regularly. This includes four unit tests and three terminal exams, including the annual exam. Performance is measured based on annual examinations (50%) and results for the rest of the year. Internal examinations (excluding board examinations) are set by the Association of Catholic Schools.

As well as indoor sports such as table tennis, badminton, chess and carrom, the school also has facilities for outdoor sports such as football, cricket, volleyball, badminton, basketball and athletics. Debating, essay writing, quizzes and more are also encouraged. The same goes for cultural events such as singing, music, dance and theatre. There is also a cricket academy there after school. It is open to children under the age of 16. The academy has produced many state and national level cricketers.

All Saints’ has won Montfort’s literary, cultural and sports cross-regional championship for several years in a row. It has dominated school cricket since its inception.

Our verdict— Class intensity is slightly higher compared to newer schools in the city. Nevertheless, it focuses on the overall development of the child. The annual tuition fee here is around Rs. 9,000 a year. Because of the high number of applicants, it can be difficult to get admission. The school has a common admission form with other institutions – St. Paul’s and Little Flowers. So you can apply to three institutions at once.
