The End Times Chess Match: God Vs Satan for Champion of the World
Bobby Fischer, perhaps the greatest chess player of all time, came to the world’s attention after chasing the world title in 1972’s “Cold War Rivalry” against Soviet Boris Spassky. Fischer lost Game 1 of the championship game in uncharacteristic fashion, then forfeited the second (due to Fischer not wanting to place cameras). Once a camera position was agreed upon, however, Fisher went on to beat the Soviet champion, move by move and checkmate. Spassky proved no match for the American champion.
As exciting as this series of chess games may be to those watching the world, a bigger, more exciting, and more important chess match is taking place – one for the world itself. It is this “brilliance” that pits Satan’s incredible power against the brilliance of God’s infinite greatness. While Satan sneaks and moves his pieces, looking for God’s general, the devil goes straight to his own general.
In fact, God is so much more than Satan that he even records (in the bible) the actions he will and will take; however, the devil still cannot defeat the Lord. For example, God recorded (in the Hebrew Bible – the Old Testament for Christians) more than 300 prophecies concerning the first coming of the Messiah Lord Jesus Christ. Although Satan knew of these moves in advance, he was unable to prevent any of them. Oh, he tried. Knowing where Jesus would be born, Satan, through the king, killed all the baby boys in the area around Jesus’ birthplace, but Jesus survived. Much later, Satan executed Jesus through one of Jesus’ closest followers, the king, governor, and religious leader of the time. In doing so, however, he went straight into checkmate, because that was God’s plan to save the world. These conquests are far more impressive than Fischer’s conquest of Spassky.
Despite being defeated each time, Satan continues to carry out a series of activities. So is God. In his unchanging way, God has planned an incredible series of future actions for the devil to try to fight back. Satan is responding.
One area of the game of chess revolves around the “peace” process in the Middle East. God has announced his plan, which involves ten national leaders — five Europeans and five Arabs — confirming a seven-year treaty with Israel that appears to stipulate the Jewish nation’s commitment to ” peace and security” needs. Satan has the world’s attention on a possible treaty with the Palestinians, even though they won’t actually sign a treaty with Israel. (Because if Israel believed that the treaty with the Palestinians met their “peace and security” needs, there would be no need to sign a treaty with the leaders of ten countries later.) But God is keeping Israel away from the (US-led) deal with the Palestinian leadership. So here’s how it works.
The Palestinian leader chose to bypass talks with Israel in order to go to the United Nations to seek a resolution on a Palestinian state. However, attempts at a solution will fail. For example, the United States has announced that it will veto the resolution; even if it were passed (at the UN General Assembly), it would not produce real, important results. After all, the United Nations does not have the power to create new nations. Also, former U.S. ambassador to the U.N. John Bolton said Friday that the Palestinians’ attempt to gain U.N. recognition without a peace deal with Israel means “almost no point,” even if it succeeds.
By making this wrong choice, the Palestinian leadership took a great risk and gained nothing. US lawmakers have threatened to cut off more than $600 million in annual funding to the Palestinians. (This threat is also due to the Palestinian leaders in the West Bank [the Fatah party] Signed a unity government agreement with Hamas, an organization designated by Congress as a terrorist entity. ) Furthermore, the Israeli leader has declared that Palestinian membership in the UN is a violation of past peace treaties between Palestinians and Israelis, which could cancel any past agreements between the two parties. both sides. This would allow Israel to respond in a radically different way to regional peace treaties, such as the doomsday treaties prophesied in the Bible.
When the attempt at a U.N. resolution fails, it risks undermining any form of public support the current Palestinian leader might have enjoyed. Moreover, it could spark mass protests that have toppled two regimes in the Middle East and threaten another (Syria).
Furthermore, a former Palestinian “freedom” fighter who led the fight against Israel in 2000 and 2008 said that “after September there will definitely be a reaction because young people will take to the streets”. Also, a U.S. congressional panel unveiled a bill that would limit financial aid to the Palestinians unless they assured the U.S. that they were serious about fighting terrorism and that no Hamas members would hold key positions in the new coalition government .
Now there is news that the Palestinian leadership may seek to avoid the US veto by not going to the UN Security Council and allowing a new Palestinian state to be admitted as a full member of the UN. Instead, the plan appears to be to go to the UN General Assembly to recognize it as a country within its 1967 borders.
On the one hand, this seems like a smart move by the leadership. On the other hand, however, it will give them the same problems as above, with little benefit. This move would still prevent the Palestinians from reaching a treaty with Israel; however, this is exactly what the Palestinian leadership wants. As the Palestinian jihadists (i.e. Hamas) would have great resistance to a treaty with Israel – putting the lives of anyone willing to sign a treaty with the Jewish nation at risk – the Palestinian leadership is looking to advance their cause while avoiding Israel like a plague.
While the resolution is expected to pass the General Assembly, international support for the initiative is waning. For example, the European Union expressed its disappointment at the Palestinian actions in a statement issued on Monday.
Both Israeli and Palestinian sources say the U.S. peace effort has failed. However, this is not news that the US-led peace process ended nine months ago.
Now is the time to call for United Nations engagement in regional treaties. This fits well with biblical prophecy; since the UN can arrange for its ten member states to negotiate with Israel (because the Palestinians won’t). If that happens, look for five leaders from Europe and five from the Middle East to work with Israel on the treaty. If that happens, we’ll see the End Times Covenant, which, once activated, will start counting down the last seven years before Christ returns.
In this Middle Eastern chess game, Satan is trying to prevent God’s plan from happening by crossing Israel with the Palestinians and preventing a regional treaty from happening. However, God’s counterattack is to allow the Palestinians to withdraw themselves from the peace process so that the peace process can move toward what God foretold. So, in this game of chess and anti-game, God allows the devil to checkmate directly, and God’s plan is being fulfilled.
With the end of Palestinian participation, the program entered a new phase. In doing so, look for possible UN involvement and appoint ten national leaders to work seriously with Israel on an end-time treaty. We may be approaching this situation; as far as we are concerned, Satan’s generals are at hand.
