However, it is now almost impossible to find products of this craft. In my own google research, I found it hard to get it even in online stores. If you want to buy one for yourself, do a search under the keywords “dip it fantasy film” and you might be lucky to find a site or two that sells it.
Dip film crafting is not that old in Malaysia, although many sources record that the craft started in the mid 70s. It has somehow withstood the test of time and to this day it is still entering elegant and classy weddings as an adornment. Dipping flowers are made into decorations in the form of wedding bouquets, bouquets, centerpieces, gift decorations and more. While maintaining its original old technique of dipping metal wires in the form of petals into liquid plastic, other new techniques were created and combined to produce various wonderful effects.
A small community of craft enthusiasts is thriving in Malaysia, albeit slowly but certainly strong enough to survive for many years to come. Some offer training courses and charge between $50 and $250, depending on the trainer’s expertise. Despite the scarcity of raw materials for handicrafts, the demand for handmade flowers is growing dramatically over time.
