We only have one life. We never have another chance. When you’re sick and incurable, you can’t walk to the nearest dealer to trade in your old one. Have you ever thought about it? For this one pack of life, there is nowhere else you can buy another pack.

When we wake up in the morning and realize that God has given us another chance and that He is still taking care of us and making sure everything goes well, we can only get down on our knees and thank God for the shower of grace that continues to shower upon us. Yes, everything, but everything, is just grace.

And that’s not all – we don’t just say thank you; we start living a life of gratitude. Everything we do shows how grateful we are to God. Even if we have to correct our friends, it’s because we thank God for what he has done for us. 16-17…coach and guide each other using good common sense. Sing, sing to God! Let every detail of your life—words, actions, etc.—be done in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father every step of the way.

This is one of the greatest truths I have understood in my life. It’s hard for me to say thank you to God. I have so few words – you can just repeat thank you so many times before it gets boring. Then I was told to read a psalm when I want to praise and thank God for helping me in my life path.

Wow! David and the other psalmists put it so beautifully! Just listen to Psalm 138:

1-3 Thank you! Everything inside of me says “Thank you!” When I sing my thanks, the angels listen.

I bow down to your temple and say it again: “Thank you!”

They’ll sing about all you’ve done: “How great is the glory of God!” Here’s why: God is high above, His eyes are far below; He knows all about us, no matter how far away. 7-8 Keep me alive in the chaos of anger when I’m stuck. Strike my enemies with one hand, save me with the other. Finish what you started in me, God. Your love is eternal – don’t give up on me now.

Let’s open the Psalms of the Bible more often. Let us praise the name of God aloud. Let’s tell our friends about our Almighty God. He deserves praise. All glory to the most dreadful God!
