This is followed by a rest period, ultrasounds and blood tests to check for possible pregnancy.

Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI)

ICSI is used to treat sperm-related infertility problems. Its main purpose is to increase the chances of fertilization during the IVF phase, when a single sperm is injected into the matured egg. This egg is then transferred into the woman’s fallopian tubes or uterus.
