How then do we expect to take our country to the Eldorado that we so desire, when we consciously continue to put feelings and petty politics before the development and well-being of the nation. What is the justification of Josphine Anenih, Murtala Yardua and Josephine Tapgun appointments as minister, if not pure politics?

Our leaders must begin to embrace the political will to ensure that we move forward for good. Remove them from this selfish attitude. Nigeria is bigger than any one individual or family, and I refused to believe that the Anenihs and the Yarduas were the most competent candidates from their respective states.

Having portfolios linked to a ministerial candidate will enable public access to each of them based on the proposed office. It will enable the public to determine the competence of each individual and not reserve that responsibility solely to our disgraceful legislators.

Effective performance management should be encouraged in government. Targets are never given to newly appointed ministers to effectively win each of them over a period. It is thought-provoking as a minister in all ramifications, failed in a previous ministry is renamed and deployed to a new ministry.
