3 Simple Ideas That Make A Huge Difference
I used to think that if things didn’t change overnight, then I wasn’t going to change. It wasn’t until I tried a whole new philosophy that I began to see how to make a huge difference in my life. What I found out is that there is a simple way to get there.
There are some ideas that I literally had to throw out. These ideas hurt me. Besides, if I’m not careful, it wouldn’t take much for these inhibiting ideas to come creeping back in, where they can do their harmful damage. It took discipline for me to push these aside and even more to keep them there.
Wishing my life was better is one of these ideas. I can’t tell you how many times I heard those words in my mind. “I wish my life was better.” The problem with wishing is that it’s not much more than wishing. Wanting doesn’t mean you deserve. If I want something, it doesn’t mean I will get it. This is a lesson we learn at an early age, yet continue to desire. It’s one of those things that If I allow myself to do, it won’t affect where I’ll be 4 years from now.
Wishing if it is not linked to performance is absolutely useless.
When I finally realized that all I had to do was make a few small changes in my life that these would lead to major differences. They have and continue to allow me to arrive where I would not have arrived. Here are 3 small changes that can easily be made that can have a dramatic impact on where we end up in the future.
- Always look for new information. Only when I started looking did the teachers appear. It would have been nice to find a vast array of new ideas and have them knock me over the head forcing me to take notes. That’s not how it works. If we don’t look, we don’t find.
- Learning to listen. When we shift our focus from ourselves to others, what emerges is a whole new world. I have to credit my kids for teaching me how to listen. Have you noticed that kids will do anything to be heard? It was amazing when I realized that listening opened up a whole new world to me.
- Be absolutely and completely true with yourself. When we are absolutely honest with ourselves, it allows us to see where our problems are. When I see my doctor, she doesn’t treat me until she knows the problem. It is the same in our lives. We can’t fix a problem until we know what it is. Don’t be a victim and don’t be conscious of lying to yourself. If you have a problem with your health. To be honest. If you have a problem with your finances, don’t be fooled. Discover the truth. This is when you will be able to fix it.
So these are 3 simple ideas that can have a dramatic change in your life. Always look, listen and be truthful. Simple but very effective.
