Get 6 Pack Abs by Removing 6 Bad Eating Habits

Willpower is one of the key components of anything in life, especially when it comes to exercise, diet, nutrition, and more. I would love to be that you have more willpower to get out of debt then eat healthy and exercise. Of course, getting out of debt is a big deal, but so is increasing your life expectancy.

Both boys and girls often develop particularly poor eating habits, daily, weekly, monthly and yearly compound eating habits that lead to weight gain and abs that never show. Doesn’t it drive you crazy to see men and women showing off their slim and ripped physiques by passing through the magazine section of the supermarket or store? I know this works for me. But like everything in life, you have to start taking baby steps to see progress. Start small…as you progress, you start making better choices and before you know it…you’ve got the results you want.

Below is a list of bad eating habits that we as people tend to do and need to get rid of as soon as possible. I believe they apply to you if you’re reading this:

6 Bad Eating Habits to Lose Your 6-Pack Abs

1. Eat fast

In short, the faster you eat, the less time your body and brain have to figure out “how much” you’re eating. So when you go from session #1 to session #2, let’s say you’ve eaten so fast, your body/brain hasn’t caught up and said “Whoa, wait a minute… let’s relax here”. Before you know it…you’ve eaten 2000 calories and not feeling “full”. We’ve all been there. Eat slowly and savor your food. If you can’t taste it, eat less of it.

2. Drink alcohol

No, I’m not saying quit drinking altogether (although I personally think that would be an amazing move), but how many times you plan to “drink a beer” or “a glass of wine” and before you know it 3 -4 beers Gone, or half a bottle of Chardonnay was missing. Guess what…you’ve cut a ton of calories. Write down every time you drink. So what, you drink 2 glasses of wine a night, no big deal right? Well, do that multiple times a day for a week, and you can put over 2,000 calories in your system. You have to burn 3500 calories to lose 1 pound.

3. Skip meals or snacks

It’s natural to think that you’ll lose weight by not eating, but it’s a terrible myth that people follow. When you skip meals, your body starts trying to control your appetite. It also causes your “hunger pangs,” which have been known to cause your willpower to falter. Plus, you have to eat to lose weight. Yes, I said that, but you have to eat smart. The right mix of carbs, fat and protein. Offer small snacks/meals every 2-3 hours throughout the day. Keep the portion small, but it will curb your hunger and fuel your body in the process.

4. Eat salty snacks

First, if you’re eating something you know is salty, it’s probably not healthy at all. Sodium is one thing that bites you, you know, because it builds up very slowly. You eat this or that throughout the day, without accounting for the sodium content, and before you know it, you’re way beyond the recommended intake. Add that popcorn at the movie theater, or that bag of chips on the way out, and your waistline will just swell. Salt also forces your body to retain water, so if you want to show off your 6-pack, eating a load of salt will kill that idea.

5. Eat and drink on weekends

People often use weekends as “time off,” which is understandable because a hectic workweek can leave you physically and mentally exhausted. The downside is that people get “too” relaxed and allow themselves to snack and binge. This is very true when you go to a neighbor BBQ, birthday party or just hanging out. How many times have you gone to a party and “grazed”. You wander around the food section, just picking food, but over time, all those calories add up, and before you know it… you’re full. Eat something healthy before going to a party, which will help you avoid bad food.

6. Eat – sleep in front of the TV

Everyone is guilty of this. After a busy day at the office, you’re trying to unwind, your favorite show is playing, or you just played your favorite Blu-ray disc with a bag of chips in your lap. Before you know it, half the bag is gone, your 2 beers are gone, and you’re falling asleep. Your body needs at least 2 hours of wakefulness after your last meal. Your body naturally burns calories even while you’re sitting there. When awake, your body burns calories to maintain your organs, walk, breathe, etc… so eat your last meal around 7-8pm and by 10pm you can start going to bed. If you fall asleep right after eating, all the calories you just consumed aren’t going to be burned anytime soon.

Do your best to break these 6 bad eating habits and I can 100% assure you that 6 pack abs will come with a healthy diet and exercise plan.
